Committees


Executive Committee
The Executive Committee consists of twelve members of the Board of Directors as specified in the by-laws, and meets once every odd-numbered month to advise and aid the Officers, committees, organizations and recognized activities of the church in all matters concerning the affairs of the church and conducting of its business. The Executive Committee is subject to the general direction and control of the Board of Directors.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is composed of the Church Officers, specific Chairs or representatives of committees and recognized organizations within the church. The Board meets once every even-numbered month to handle all matters not specifically reserved in the by-laws to the members of the church or to the ministers.

Board of Trustees
The trustees are responsible for the care and upkeep of the church building and other properties of the church.

The Trustees meet monthly. Please check the church calendar for the next meeting or contact the board chair.

Finance
The Finance Committee is responsible for the care and administration of the congregation’s financial resources.

Christian Outreach/Lifeworks Committee
The purpose of the Lifeworks/Christian Outreach Committee is to promote mission, education, and coordinate mission activities of the church. This committee promotes direct personal involvement by church members in Christian mission tasks and projects outside the church itself.

They help to coordinate activities such as the following:

  • Lincoln Park Shelter
  • Bethel New Life
  • Maine Township Food Pantry
  • Crop Walk
  • Habitat for Humanity

Membership
The purpose of the Membership Committee is to make visitors and guests to our Church feel welcome and to minister to those who are already members of the church.

The Membership Committee meets monthly. Please check the church calendar for the next meeting or contact the committee chair.

Arts and Décor
This committee’s purpose is to enhance and coordinate the interior decoration of the church building and other church properties. Please contact the committee chair for information about when this committee meets.

Nominations
Each year, the Nominations Committee works closely with the Senior Minister and Congregational Chair to fill all of the openings for various committees of the church. They present their recommendations during the spring congregational meeting.

Social
The Social Committee plans and executes various social events for the congregation throughout the year. Their events range in scope and variety to evenings of jazz music at the Church to community dinners at a local restaurant.
