Crop Walk
Niles-Park Ridge Crop Walk

Each fall Park Ridge Community Church joins with other churches in the area to participate in the annual CROPWALK. CROP stands for Communities Reaching Out to People and is a 60-year tradition. The local designated recipient of 25% of funds raised is the Maine Township Emergency Food Pantry.

CROP Walks are community fundraising events organized by Church World Services. CWS was organized in 1946; the CROP program began in 1947. The first CROP Walk was held in Bismarck, ND, on October 17, 1969. The first CROP Walk in Park Ridge was held 1992.
Over 250 walkers participated in the 20th anniversary of the Niles-Park Ridge Crop Walk on Sunday, October 16. It stepped off from St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Park Ridge.The Crop Walk raises funds to fight hunger and poverty locally and around the world.
