Confirmation
Head to Heart (H2H) is a three-year, interactive program for 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students. It has one focus: to grow middle school small groups into supportive communities of Christian faith that become the basis for middle school and high school youth ministry. At the end of the three-year program, youth have the option of being confirmed.
Youth are always encouraged to invite friends to join them for H2H!
After an initial fall "mixer" activity to help youth new to the program meet and get to know the already active youth, the regularly planned H2H program begins and includes Theme Events, Serve & Plays, and Huddles.
Theme Events:
Theme Events use multi-media presentations, music, and games to teach Christian faith in ways that are exciting, interactive, and effective. A central part of each Theme Event is the small group time when 4-7 youth meet with the Adult Guides to share the highs and lows of their day and to engage in small group activities that reinforce the teaching of that evening. These small groups are composed of youth of the same gender and the same grade level. The Adult Guides are parents of youth in the program.
Serve & Plays:
Serve & Plays are opportunities for individual small groups to engage in either a service activity or a fellowship activity (often the activity is both!). This is essential for the bonding of the group but also for developing a sense of outreach to others. It does not necessarily occur during the regular confirmation time, but is scheduled with the individual small group.
Huddles:
Youth do not attend huddles. The Huddle is a time for the Adult Guides and leaders to check in and plan for the next few sessions.
H2H Schedule:
Head to Heart typically meets on Wednesday evenings during the school year, 6:30-8:00, in the sanctuary of the church. Please check the online
calendar for the most current schedule.
Confimation Sunday will be held on May 22nd, 2011 at 10:00 AM.
