“Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise.” Luke:3-11
Lincoln Park Community Services is open for volunteer meal assistance. We will not go in person to serve dinners, but can deliver home cooked meals to the shelter. The number of residents at LPCS has decreased to accommodate social distancing, so we will prepare dinners for 35 people. Because the PRCC kitchen remains closed, we need volunteers to prepare, cook or bake various parts of a meal in their homes.
We need individuals, families or PRCC groups to prepare the following meal components to feed 35 people on these Thursday dates: April 1 2021.
meat entree + small portion of a vegetarian option
We will coordinate volunteers through Sign Up Genius to ensure all meal components are accounted for on our assigned dates. You may sign up directly for the date you would like to volunteer for below:
Lincoln Park Community Services is a comprehensive social service agency serving adult men and women who are experiencing homelessness, providing interim housing, meals, and a targeted array of services to over 300 people each year. The Interim Housing Program accommodates up to 35 guests each night year round.
In addition to meals and safe living space, the Interim Housing Program provides storage space, showers, and laundry facilities for guests. The average length of stay is seven weeks, although there is no time limit provided guests make progress toward their goals.
