"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God." Hebrews 13:16
Throughout the year, non- perishable food items are collected for the community food pantry. During the first week of every month, PRCC volunteers deliver the collected food items to the Maine Township Food Pantry.
The Pantry provides food on an emergency basis to people living in the greater Maine Township area. The Food Pantry supplies approximately 150 boxes of food every month that help feed over 300 individuals.
The Food Pantry website provides a list of most needed items along with information on their operation and volunteer opportunities. The first Maine Township Food Pantry program began in 1981 when the Township distributed 15 food baskets during the Christmas season.
You can also support the Food Pantry by joining the Crop Walk. The annual Niles-Park Ridge Crop Walk takes place in mid-October. The CROP Hunger Walk contributes 25% of the funds raised to the Maine Township Food Pantry.
