"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
Youth Group is our social ministry for middle school and high school youth. The mission of the group is to provide a positive and encouraging environment where students in 6th-12th grades feel welcome.
Youth Group Night is a spiritual gathering for middle school and high school students. It's a time and place where teens can come together to play games, socialize, discuss, reflect, and share their faith and connection with Christ.
The Youth group has no fixed curriculum and is open to the ideas and interests of its members. It is a place where everyone's suggestions are valid and valued to create a youth group that is fun and exciting!
Email Pastor Mollie at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Each summer the senior high students have the opportunity to participate in a week long Mission Trip. The Youth committee selects a not-for-profit organization that has significant planned service projects in their area.
The focused environment of this outreach provides a great experience for the participants. It encourages students’ passion for service in their own congregation and the greater community.
In 2019 the senior high students headed to the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York, July 20th thru July 27th. In Warrensburg, They helped with Kids Club programming, maintained the community gardens, and assisted in home repair projects. They also got to the experience the area’s natural beauty. For more info download the flyer by clicking on the image on the right.
In the 20 plus years of mission trips, the youth group has travelled throughout the United States and ventured into Central America and the Caribbean. The service experience and the bonds built have impact long after the high school students return home.
Eric Nelson Youth Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded each spring to recognize a graduating senior who has made an extraordinary commitment to the mission and life of our church through their presence, gifts, and service during their high school years. The award is intended to help pay for expenses associated with college (tuition, books, room & board, etc.) and is given on behalf of the youth group at PRCC.
Eric was the first recipient of the award— Initiated through the generosity Eric showed our youth programs while still in his early 20's, when he was starting his auto business.
Eric personally funded the scholarship for several years —It is now supported through our youth fundraisers. Eric has continued giving back, he recently was named a Community Star by the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce, see Tribune article.
