"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
Youth Group is our social ministry for middle school and high school youth. The mission of the group is to provide a positive and encouraging environment where students in 6th-12th grades feel welcome.
Youth Group Night is a spiritual gathering for middle school and high school students. It's a time and place where teens can come together to play games, socialize, discuss, reflect, and share their faith and connection with Christ.
The Youth group has no fixed curriculum and is open to the ideas and interests of its members. It is a place where everyone's suggestions are valid and valued to create a youth group that is fun and exciting!
If you have any questions please contact Pastor Mollie at
Each summer the senior high students have the opportunity to participate in a week long Mission Trip. The Youth committee selects a not-for-profit organization that has significant planned service projects in their area.
The focused environment of this outreach provides a great experience for the participants. It encourages students’ passion for service in their own congregation and the greater community.
In the 20 plus years of mission trips, the youth group has travelled throughout the United States and ventured into Central America and the Caribbean. The service experience and the bonds built have impact long after the high school students return home.
Water Well in Honduras
As part of the 2020 Mission Trip we are is sponsoring a water well project in Honduras for a community currently without a sustainable clean water supply The cost of construction will be underwritten by our church through fundraisers, events and contributions from the community. We are partnering with the Living Water International on this project. Living Water is a faith based organization that is committed to provide sustainable water wells in places around the world who do not currently have access to clean water. Pairing health education with the drilling of the well helps to ensure the life of the well and the success of the community.
Living Water International was founded in 1990 and has completed over 20,000 community water projects in 27 developing countries. For more info on their mission and organization:
High School Youth Mission Project 2020
On June 21, twelve volunteers from Park Ridge Community Church will board a plane and head to Honduras, where they will serve the community by actually drilling the well that we’ve sponsored, teach sanitation and hygiene lessons, and share God’s love with this community!
Each person’s trip costs $2,200 for airfare, lodging, meals, and materials. Our contributions will help offset this cost to make this trip achievable for our high school students and adult leaders.
Here's a video from Living Water International; talking about their organization's mission of bringing clean water to communities around the world.
Eric Nelson Youth Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded each spring to recognize a graduating senior who has made an extraordinary commitment to the mission and life of our church through their presence, gifts, and service during their high school years. Eric was the first recipient of the award— Initiated through the generosity Eric showed our youth programs while still in his early 20's, when he was starting his auto business. Eric personally funded the scholarship for several years —It is now supported through our youth fundraisers. Eric has continued giving back, he recently was named a Community Star by the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce, see Tribune article.
